Liandris Dawnbough

Liandris of the Dawnbough clan, Countess of the Whisperwood, was not originally meant to be in the position she holds today. Originally, she was content to serve as the Court Mage of Peltas and let her husband handle the political governance of the Whisperwood, the physical guidance and protection of their clan, and the druidic matters of the Circle of the Verdant Grove. Her preference was to pursue the study of and advisory on magical affairs to the Amythest Throne and stay out of politics while enjoying the company of her friends at-court such as Princess Aredhel D'Lyandariis, the wife of Crown Prince Caladir.

To her personal misfortune, Lian's husband perished during the Peltasian Civil War alongside the late King of Peltas and she now had to contend with her late husband's responsibilities. On top of that, she also had to deal with raising their daughter, Lyndishen, who was born shortly before the start of the Civil War. For a time, Lian was able to keep her responsibilities together, to the unfortunate neglect of her daughter, but when the Harain(Council of Chiefs) of the Whisperwood elected her as Aramain(High Chieftain) in her own right during the following election, Liandris was forced to resign from her post as Court Mage so that she could have some time to spend with her daughter while also tending to her duties to her clan and county.

She served as one of the late Queen Aredhel's ladies-in-waiting while representing the Whisperwood's interests at-court until her good friend's tragic death at the hands of Peltas' enemies, and the trauma she suffered as a result of the affair has caused her to withdraw more from courtly life to focus on raising her daughter. She has begged the Harain to elect a new Aramain so that she might be able to spend more time with Lyn, but they've been hesitant thus far due to her effectiveness during her tenure.
